It is with great pleasure that we can now announce that Bloch & Behrens Wool (NZ) Ltd has been purchased by PGG Wrightson.

The Wool Industry, at least in New Zealand, is facing uncertain times. Sheep numbers continue to reduce as more and more farmers switch to more lucrative farming options. This emerging trend concerned us at Bloch & Behrens as we could see a long term supply issue developing, making it increasingly difficult for us to guarantee continued supply of good quality New Zealand wool.

Through this new ownership, Bloch & Behrens Wool (NZ) Ltd has cemented its long term position in the New Zealand Wool Industry, giving us the best possible opportunity to continue sourcing the best raw materials for our customers for years to come, ensuring that the 150 year history of wool trading under the name of Bloch & Behrens will continue.

PGG Wrightson is the corner stone of the New Zealand Rural Service Industry, handling 40% of the New Zealand wool clip. It also services the Rural New Zealand community in many other areas, such as Seed and Grain, Dairy, Livestock, as well as Real Estate, Finance, Insurance and they have retail supply stores throughout New Zealand.
